Public Health – Undergraduate Programme Overview

Overview of the Programme

Public Health as an undergraduate programme focuses on the science and practice of preventing disease, promoting health, and prolonging life through organized community efforts. It combines knowledge from health sciences, social sciences, and management to address health challenges at the population level rather than focusing solely on individual patients.

The programme typically spans four years and leads to the award of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Public Health. Students gain knowledge in epidemiology, environmental health, biostatistics, health promotion, nutrition, health policy, and disease control. It emphasizes both theoretical foundations and field-based practical experience to prepare graduates for professional careers in healthcare systems, NGOs, government agencies, and international health organizations.
