Dr. Yaqoob is a researcher and lecturer in Agricultural Economics, with interests in production economics, health economics, development studies, and policy impact analysis. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE), African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), and the Agriculture, Nutrition and Health Academy (ANH). He is also a network researcher with the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC).
His work and contributions have received international recognition. Notably, he was awarded a Human Capital Research Grant ($15,000) by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through AERC in Nairobi. In 2025, the AD Scientific Index ranked him among the Top 23 University of Ibadan scientists in Economics and Econometrics (H-Index category).
Dr. Majeed began his career in 2008 with the Oyo State Local Government Service, where he rose to the position of Acting Director. Over the years, he has worked with national, regional, and international organizations such as the World Bank, AfDB, and IITA, gaining experience in poverty reduction, food security, economic empowerment, agribusiness, rural development, and climate change projects.
Between 2019 and 2023, he served as a Teaching Assistant at The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, where he taught courses in Resource Economics and Introduction to Microeconomics. Before joining Prime University, Abuja, he was a Research Associate at the Center for Econometrics and Applied Research (CEAR), Ibadan.
He has published several scholarly works in both local and international journals and has presented at professional conferences, demonstrating his commitment to advancing agricultural and development economics through research and practice.
